THRILLS AND DRILLS AS 2021 UTANG UNITY CUP KICKS OFF IN GRAND STYLE.

Yesterday, after much anticipation, Utang Unity Cup officially commenced with thrills and drills filling the air at the Government Primary School, Afaha Offot, Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

The competition which happens to be the 12th Edition with the theme: "Sustaining the Peace through the Game," had the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon  performing the kickoff to signal the commencement of the unity competition.

In his welcome address, The progenitor who also is the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment Industry, Mr. David Sergeant popularly called Utang Akwa Ibom thanked God Almighty for the Grace  to host and sustain the annual event and the support received from far and wide.

The opening ceremony witnessed a tough match between Effiat Offot and Ikot Ekpe Offot which ended one goal apiece. 

The event was graced by guests and spectators from far and wide including: the Honourable Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr. Akan Okon, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor bureau of technical matters and due process, Elder Ufot Ebong , Immediate Past Vice Chairman of  Uyo LGA, Hon. Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, Engr. Solomon Eyo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Talent Hunt, Mr. Emmanuel Owuala, Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Godfada Uko, Special Assistant to the Governor on social reorientation, Mr Ekpeno Gold, and many others too numerous to mention.

The competition is expected to run for the next two weeks.
