AKWA IBOM ENTERTAINERS CONDOLE WITH ANIEKPENO MKPANANG
It was a day of mixed feelings as Akwa Ibom State entertainment industry practicioners stormed Tom Mkpanang Family House in Ukanafun on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, to console and cheer Mr Aniekpeno Mkpanang over the demise of his sister.
The visitors comprised of Mista Xto, Sir Wilker, UNIK Brodaz, Chief Udo Mariam, DJ Ritzy, Moses Eskor, Hon. Eno Williams, MC Mista, Joe 'Castle' Akpan and Governor Udom Emmanuel's aides, Godfada Uko and Emmanuel Owuala, special assistants on Project Monitoring and Talent Hunt respectively, including the special assistant to governor of Cross River State on Entertainment, Effiom Trombone.
The visit afforded the special assistant to the governor on entertainment industry and leader of the delegation, Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom) the opportunity to convey his appreciation to the maestro for the unflinching support to entertainers and the entertainment industry. In his remark, he referred to Mr Aniekpeno as an enigma and an institution, which inspired the stars to pay him a visit, to share with him in his time of grief.
"This is the greatest gift I have gotten, I am very proud of you guys", the permanent secretary of Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture & Tourism, Mr Mkpanang exclaimed in his response. He said 'receiving these icons in my home is an amazing thing that I really do appreciate, one thing I can assure you, is that we will have greater collaboration. This is the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship, this is the genesis of so many good things.'
Recounting his loss, he reminisced, 'I and my sister were so close, she dedicated her life to the family, discipline and unrepentant care, she was the cardinal essence of the family legacy'.
Giving the vote of thanks after a guided tour of the country home, Mista Xto commended the host for the warm reception and hospitality, he said that indeed, the life of Mr Mkpanang as an inspiration to many, is truly something to remember.
